Description

Shagbark Hickory is a native tree to the eastern United States. In Michigan it is found in the southern half of the lower peninsula. It is one of the densest trees in the northern forest, useful for flooring, firewood and game food. The Urban Ecology Center has a bit of Information on Shagbarks. Some other Hickories.
