Shingle Oak

Price range: $3.15 through $16.00

Shingle oak has leaves with smooth edges and a single bristle tip at the apex. The acorns ripen in the fall of the second year and are small and round.

Description

Shingle Oak is in the red oak family even though it doesn’t have loved leaves. The leaves actually look more like a live oak which by the way I have one ( a live oak) in my greenhouse about 3 inch caliper. The Morton Arboretum has some good info on the shingle Oak. We have many other varieties of oak.
