Chestnut Oak Tree

Price range: $2.55 through $5.00

Chestnut oak has notable differences in leaves, nuts, and growth. This oak tree is a food resource for mammals, birds, and a good tree for nesting.

Description

Chestnut oak is in the white oak family with shallow lobed leaves. This oak’s native range follows the Appalachian mountain from Alabama to New York.

The wood is used in much the same way as white oak, but since the tree does not grow as big and straight as the white oak it is not as valuable.
