Description
White oak is a large, slow growing deciduous tree native to Michigan and the Midwest. White oak along with red oak are most valuable oaks for flooring, firewood, counter tops, furniture, pallets and whiskey barrels. It is a ferry beautiful and stately tree with it’s large crown when grown in open spaces. Long lived up to more than 500 years old and at that age it can produce up to a million acorns a year. It is always good to plant more than 1 variety of oak as different oak species have their good acorn years differently. Here are a few of our other oaks.
