Description

Cherokee Chief Dogwood (Cornus florida Cherokee Chief) is a flowering dogwood. This beautiful small tree grows 15-30 feet tall and 20-25 feet wide with a layered branched look.

It has beautiful dark pink flowers in early spring. In the fall the Cherokee Chief has beautiful red leaves and the winter, red fruit clings to the branches, making it attractive year-round. The winter fruit is great for attracting birds. Although the Cherokee Chief prefers partial sun to partial shade it will tolerate full sun. This tree is resistant to pests, drought, and deer but it can get powdery mildew on it’s leaves.
